You know, when you’re offered the occasion to capture the essence of a modern-day legend, you’d be ridiculously idiotic to turn down such a chance.

I pride myself in not acting in a manner to suggest idiocy. So of course I jump at the chance when Ami extended an invite my way to Jeri’s birthday shindig.

Then during said birthday shindig, something magical happened.

Well, I say “happened”, because that’s what it seemed like from the outside. However, the coordination and execution was clinical, a masterclass in queendom.

One moment, everyone was in different outfits. Next moment, all black. It was one of those “blink and you’ll miss it” moments. And yes, a lot of us missed the moment the execution was effected.

There’s a word Jeri uses a lot to identify the people close to her, the people she trusts.

“Tribe.”

And yoh, didn’t the tribe show up and show out.

So here’s a quick one to stew over: How much can you count on the people in your tribe?

[Oh: By the way, there’s more from this day. Plenty more. I’ll share them at some point. Maybe soon, maybe later.]

Yes, you can book yourself a moment. Or for a loved one. Or for you and a loved one. Be it personal portrait, friendship portrait, couple/family portrait; or an event you have coming up – wedding, music, private family function… You get the idea. As long as there are stories to tell, I’m good at freezing those moments in time.

It’s simple: Just drop me a line on stillsbymarcus@gmail.com, and we’ll chat.
